In my earlier years, I had difficulty reading my patients, and sometimes pushed them beyond their level of tolerance. 

After laboriously completing simple phrases like "Drive a .." for about 15 minutes, my aphasic patient had had enough. 

His reply to my cue "Shut the." was "hell up!" 

I did.
