COVER STORY
A differential diagnosis for children with cleft palates will reveal whether their speech problems are caused by faulty learning or by structural defects or poor velar movement. "Our team gets lots of referrals for children who are believed to have some kind of palatal problem when they really just have mislearning," says Lynn Fox, MA, MEd, CCC-SLP.
