The House Ear Institute (HEI) announced the appointment of Betsy Weaver as Vice President of Development. In this new position, Weaver will focus full time on fundraising with an emphasis on major gift solicitation. Her appointment began Feb. 1.
"We are pleased to have Betsy Weaver join the institute," said Jim Boswell, House Ear Institute CEO. "Betsy's experience and past success in fundraising will bring added value to the institute's current development programs."
Weaver joins the House Ear Institute with over 20 years of fundraising experience. Most recently, she was the Senior Executive Director of Development at USC Davis School of Gerontology. Prior to USC, Ms. Weaver held development positions at the Jonathan Club, Methodist Hospital Foundation and the Los Angeles Children's Museum.
"I look forward to joining the team at House Ear Institute, which has been a leader in investigating hearing loss and ear disease for almost sixty five years," Weaver said. "Hearing loss can affect anyone, at anytime, so it is critical to increase the funding to support the important research that is being done at HEI."
In addition to her fundraising experience, Weaver has volunteered her time for numerous professional organizations and community non-profits including Association of Fundraising Professionals, Haven House, Junior League of Pasadena and South Pasadena Educational Foundation.
