I am a speech pathologist in an elementary school. One therapy groups consists of 3 girls with auditory processing disorder and a peer model. It was the peer model's birthday and her groupmates wanted to sing "Happy Birthday". They sang the first verse and the second with no trouble.
The three girls, with gusto, sang the next verse:
Medical bless and keep you
Medical bless and keep you
Medical bless and keep you
Medical bless and keep you!!!
I asked them what they were singing and one girl said, "It's a blessing for hopistals."
Another girl said, "No, it's to keep you blessed and keeped."
The last girl said, "You better ask the teacher - she knows what she is singing."
The real verse ended up being:
"May the Lord bless and keep you"
Continued work will be needed in the area of auditory processing and listening skills!
