Here at ADVANCE we receive numerous calls and e-mails from readers interested in accessing specific articles or topics that we have covered in the magazine. Many have expressed an interest in a repository for articles on specific topics. We heard your requests and have responded accordingly. Consider this your invitation to visit our latest online destination. You can now access specialty sites, located on the ADVANCE Web site (www.advanceweb.com/speech), that are devoted to some of our most popular print and online topics.
These microsites offer easy access to specific information in the areas of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), dysphagia, hearing health, language assessment, school-based therapy, and speech and language disorders. You can access each site by clicking on the "Specialty" tab on the blue menu that stretches across the top of our homepage.
If you currently have an ADVANCE username and password, you can explore all the content available on the sites. If you do not have an ADVANCE username and password, now is the perfect time to sign up. It's free and easy to sign up.
We are committed to making the microsites one-stop destinations for readers interested in the latest developments in their specialty area. The sites contain a mixture of web-only content and archived print features. Readers can search within each site for related archived content.
The "Focus on Fluency" feature in the Speech and Language Disorders microsite is a great resource for clinicians looking for the latest news in stuttering therapy. "AAC in the Schools," located in our AAC microsite, offers articles on the latest strategies for classroom technology. Every microsite includes a revolving selection of our most popular print features, targeted CE information, and specialized job listings.
The microsites will be updated several times per month, so make sure to check back often to see what's new.
We're not stopping with our initial six specialty sites either. In the near future we will launch microsites focusing on autism and early intervention, with more on the way!
Please take a moment to explore our latest online resource. We are proud of the sites and believe they will be a valuable resource for our readers. As always, we invite you to contact us with any feedback and suggestions regarding our microsites and overall Web site.
